1890 Universities Foundation Welcomes Dr. Manjit K. Misra as New Head of National Institute of Food and Agriculture at the USDA
The 1890 Universities Foundation is pleased to welcome Dr. Manjit K. Misra as the new Director of USDA’s National Institute of Food and Agriculture (NIFA). Dr. Misra is an esteemed scientist, educator, and expert in seed science and research. Dr. Misra is a well-known and respected leader throughout the land-grant community. We look forward to engaging with Dr. Misra to support the advancement of our network of 19 Strong 1890 Universities in his new role as NIFA Director. Today, the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) announced the appointment of Manjit K. Misra as the new Director of the National Institute of Food and Agriculture (NIFA). The NIFA Director leads the agency’s work in advancing agricultural research, education, and extension to solve societal challenges. Dr. Misra will start his new role on Monday, May 8, 2023.
